In developed countries #robotics#automationn, #machine-learning is embedded in the day-to-day processes for businesses. US for example #A.I has shifted supply chain solutions to self-drive trucks, “dark” warehouses & drones. Retail businesses are adopting self-service platforms.
Developing countries such as SA are within the adoption phase of many of these new technologies mainly because of fear of change & employees job security concerns. Businesses are shifting practices towards creating “people-centric smart workplaces” that rely on tech & automation tools for a competitive edge.
Whilst SA plays catch up, the new trend & next stage of the 4th #Industrial revolution is “Hyper Automation” (H-Auto).
H-Auto refers to the mixture of automation technologies that exist to augment & expand human capabilities. It is the layer of technology that creates the umbrella to combine individual technology & tools in an automated process to accelerate synergies or #efficiencies.
Advise to entities currently adopting technology make sure these building blocks allow for Hyper automation in the future by introducing tools that are “plug & play” solutions, pull #data from different sources & can use #APIs to talk to existing #software.
